Join us for a long weekend under the Aurora at Clearwater Lake to catch one of natures most beautiful phenomena!
The goal for these tours is to give you the best opportunity at seeing the Aurora Borealis in Northern Manitoba. We will spend time throughout the day going over camera basics & editing with Andre & Justin. You are encouraged to ask questions throughout the entire tour.
Dates:
Currently we have opened one tour date over May Long weekend.
May 19-22, 2023 - Average Temperature = 2°C
*Arrival in The Pas on Friday evening, check out on Monday by 11am*
Accommodations:
Accommodations are provided as part of your package by Andersen Inn and Suites. As part of your package, you will have your own private hotel room (2 queens or single room).
Food:
A complimentary continental breakfast is included in your hotel stay.
Lunch will be covered on Saturday, Sunday & Monday by Andre & Justin.
There will be an optional supper out in the evenings, however that cost is not covered in our package. We recommend bringing snacks at night.
Travel:
We will be traveling to Clearwater Lake from The Pas together, this travel is covered by High Hopes Aurora & Andre Brandt Photography. You are required to get yourself to The Pas - 6 hours from Winnipeg. Guests have carpooled together in the past.
Weather:
Northern Manitoba can be very unpredictable. We recommend bringing warm clothes and dressing in layers. We will not be far from our vehicles therefore you can warm up in the vehicle at any time throughout the night.

No! Almost all cameras made in the last few years are good enough to photograph the aurora. The best camera is the one accessible to you.
Yes! We are going to be available to help you at every step of the way. Our goal is get you the best northern lights experience. Before the group leaves, we will ensure you have the correct settings to photograph the Aurora. There will be many opportunities to ask questions throughout the day. We will work together to make sure you understand how your camera works before we get to our location.
The hotel in town provides free basic WiFi. At night it is best to anticipate no service.
We are anticipating 5-6 tour guests then 2 tour guides.
Camera, tripod, wide angle lens (18mm or wider), remote shutter (for shooting while you warm up).
Yes! Dons Photo in Winnipeg rents out camera gear. Be sure to mention High Hopes Aurora to them when renting gear. You are welcome to reach out to us to discuss camera gear.
